Any Kansans Happen to Catch KAKE 10 NEWS?

Two days ago, the radio station that's affiliated with Channel 10 (ABC) started playing up how they were going to have an expose' on illegal firearms being bought through the classified ads in the local (Wichita, KS) newspaper. They were going to air the results of their "undercover" investigation on the ten o'clock news last night.A bit of background, about 7 or 8 years ago a liberal mayor pushed through some city legislation that required that the private sales of firearms be screened through the police department via a permit and background check. This was at the same time FFL dealer's were required to institute a 7 day waiting period for handguns they sold inside the city as the police confirmed the buyer didn't have any past due water bills and their dog licenses were up to date. The firearms community of Wichita was so unimpressed with this legislation that a good portion of them just took to buying guns in the county, at FFL dealers at gunshows held outside the city limits, and the dealers who were in business in the smaller towns around Wichita. They did manage, for a while, to require people who advertized guns for sale in the paper to buy the police permit before they advertized the gun. But at that point everyone stopped advertizing in the classified so they lifted the requirement, indicating it was alright to buy the permit when the gun was sold, not when it was advertized.Recently, a local FFL dealer who is in the city told me there have been less than 10 permits issued for the private sale of guns in Wichita since that time (again, some 7 to 8 years). Because Wichita residents could simply go outside the city and avoid the waiting period, or go into the county to gunshows or firearms auctions and buy guns (either from an FFL or a private individual) it became apparent the law was useless and, of course, ignored. So the newspaper classified has had plenty of firearms for sale over the last few years. And of course, there have been very few permits requested, or issued. Some citizens weren't even aware of the law. Others would just tell the buyer to meet at a location outside the city to sell the gun.As I said, Tuesday and Wednesday it was all over the local TV channel and radio station that they were going to reveal the results of their undercover investigation on the ten o'clock news Wednesday night. The hype you might imagine, how guns were being sold illegally through the classified ads, how people were skirting the law WHICH WAS INTENDED TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY and such. Of course, I was interested in watching and formulating some way the firearm community could respond. I invisioned petitions circulating at the next gunshow and possibly trying to start a campaign to repeal this useless law.At the five o'colck news they had a little preview, showed one guy with his face blanked out explaining how, since he was a private citizen and not a dealer, he could sell his gun to the undercover newsman without a license or any paperwork. This was just a sample, they had even more details at 10, be sure to watch! Well, of course, I watched. Guess what was on the 10 o'colck news about it.NOTHING!Zip, Zero, Nada, not one word about it. They had some filer stuff in there, but didn't even make any explanation as to why it wasn't aired. Of course, my guess is that there were many, many, many gunowners calling the station to protest and they decided it wasn't in their best interest to broadcast the story.Or did I miss something? I did tune in about 3 minutes after 10:00 because I know they air these things towards the middle of the broadcast. Did anyone else out there in Kansas here anything about it? Any info at all?
