Gun ranges

the other day I was at my local gun range to test some loads for the 22-250. When I went downstairs to the tunnel, a guy there that was a guest of the range was trying to tell me how to use the range. He was trying to explain that there wqould be a sequence to the shots fired from those three guys and me. I thought that was a crock since the gun range charges by the hour. I have been a member there since i was 9 years old, and these guys that had never been there were trying to tell me hoe to use the range. I guess since i am young that means that i am stupid as well. I did not follow the shot sequence that they had stated earlier. I wear ear plugs as well as muffs and i could not even hear tyhem shoot. The thing that really peed me off was that these idiots were not putting the barrel of their rifles throught the window to shoot. They had the end of the barrel about six inches on our side if the window causing the pressure to be exerted among the neighboring shooters. That was the only way that i could tell when they were shooting. The wind that was forced across the other shooters was strong enough that it would dry your eyes out and then make them water excessively.I am sure that you all did not need to here this but i needed to vent somewhere and this was the "chosen place".songdog

I would start by talking to the management of the range, if these individuals were new may be the range officer needs to instruct them on the policies

you would think. They have cameras that watch each cell. They can read the lettering on the side of your rifle if tey wanted to. They have a man that sets and watches the cameras full time while someone is down there shooting ever since some Jack turd shot steel pinned armor into the range and throught the walls and let it fly all through out the neighborhood. songdog

It is funny that you mention that. They are hiring for a couple of positions full and part. THe stipulation is that you must be 21. I do not see why in some cases that age makes a difference. They would rather hire a person who is 21 and does not know beans from sprouts, than to hire someone younger who knows just as much as many of the current employees do if not more. songdog
