I inquried about a 28g for pheasant hunting. A guy here told me I was nuts. Well I bought one and proved him wrong I love the 28g.

    I`ve got a Remington 1148 in a 28ga.I use it for rabbits and it`s great.Never tried it for pheasants.Always use the 12ga for them.

    It's a great gun for them. I live in SD and hunt all year long with it. I have a 48 Franchi and it's super light!! plus living in SD Cabelas in Mitchell is cheap for ammo.

    I knew a man who used a 28 ga for clays. But I sure like my 20 ga side by side for hunting. The 28 ga for hunting must mean that you are a very good and very fast shooter. Keep on keepin' on!Bonne Chasse!

    I've killed more pheasants with a .410 than with any other gun. BUT!!!! I've also passed up more shots. It isn't all about killing. Gotta know your limitations.

    Timberbeast- I did not know that it was legal to shoot them off of the ground. You should at least use a pellet rifle so the gammies will not hear you.songdog
