Ok, what is a songdog? Only two that I know of. One is the coyote, a very musical beast, especially in groups. The other is the hound on the trail. So, what kind of songdog are you?

A few days ago you posted an inquiry about "Bore Butter". I tried to give a link that I thought would be of interest to you but it didn't work. I think I've got it correct now. Give it a look. http://mamaflinter.tripod.com/beginningguidetomuzzleloaders/

Whats up man? I have really not been doing anything. Your right im back in Independence for the hollidays. Finals were ok did about the same as always. Man, i have just been doing rain dances for days to try and get some water here. There are a few ducks here but no where for them to go except the refuge. Oh well, i need to get out your way and go Pheasant hunting. We own some land south of you around Caldwell. Have you been doing any good with anything? Hey, thanks for asking about me, hope to talk to you soon...Wittum

I recieved your first email and emailed you back. I have been out coyote hunting since thursday afternoon. That is the reason for not checking my email. I have still not checked it yet, but will sunday afternoon. By the way, Friday morning it was real foggy, and i called in my first yote with a mouth call. I called for 35 sec. and stopped , then about 2 min. later my buddy spotted three yotes moving in front of us through the brush at about 70 yds. We each shot one at the same time and then i shot the other with the TEXAS HEART SHOT while it was running away. Then we went to a couple of other spots and we had a total of 7 yotes by the end of the day. All with good pelts. One weighed around 60 lbs. Then opn friday night we went to check the traps that i had set at around 9 pm. To my surprise I had trapped a bobcat that weighed in at 32lbs. Sorry again about not checking my email, get back to you ASAP.songdog

60 POUNDS?! Dang, that's a big dog. Maybe the California desert dogs are just little.

will-That is a huge dog here also. I am 6'5"and i can hold the dogs nose even with the top of my head and its tail touches the ground. This was after the yote was cased. It will shrink a little after it is tanned. In colorado we have shot yotes that are up in the 70 lb. range, but they are very hard to come by. The average yote around here in ks. is 30 -35 lbs. And in colo. they are around 45lbs. I think that probably 10 lbs. of that is fur for those colo. yotes. The yotes that we shot last christmas in colo. had fur that was 6-8" long on the top of their backs. songdog

At my old high school, the school recieved a grant to lay astro turf down at the football field 2 yrs. ago. They geese loved it. Tore it all to hell. It looked like a rodeo arena with dirt and poop all over the place. Hope you tore em up.songdog
