I got this from another site. I don't have anything against Plastic Guns. They even make Plastic Holsters for them, from what I hear. http://www.glocksucks.com/kb.html

Wow, what a dummy -- he actually spent money to buy that domain name, then pretends to have an objective discussion. The last paragraph gives away his true stripes, if you haven't figured it out sooner in the reading. Although he tries to sustain a posture of objective reporting, he comes unglued at the end despite the fact that he first admits that many 1911s have the same chamber design feature and that the catastrophic failure anecdotes he tells were due exclusively to overpressure loads, reload use, lead bullet residue or worn out brass. He goes on to admit there are no comparable statistics on similar failures in other guns though HK USPs and others have shown a tendency to fail in similar circumstances. While he implies that Glock's barrel metallurgy might fall below spec occasionally, he cites no proof of that, and he recommends about 4 other manufacturers' barrels whose metallurgy he probably knows nothing more about in terms of precise specs. Not exactly a reassuring argument. It strikes me that a design characteristic shared by many 1911s is probably not an outrageous flashpoint for criticism -- if one is being objective. The web page's own admission that gun failures, when they do happen, have only been proven to occur with faulty ammunition, is not exactly a condemnation of Glock or HK, let alone a hot news flash. The most interesting clue about this guy's prejudicial position is the characterization of Glocks as "plastic guns," which has absolutely nothing to do with the argument being made about barrel engineering. At the end he throws in a few insults about LEOs and such. There may be a clear and concise debate to be had over Glock barrels, but this guy sure isn't making it. What a boob.
