Amazing how much they add to the beauty of the countryside. Nothing against the west, but mesquite and catus just don't compare to trees. (However there are a few nice trees out there, north of the desert.

Bah, give me the high desert in NM after a late June rain when everything turns green for a few minutes, and you have double or triple rainbows . . . that really makes you appreciate it.

I have to agree with darkstar. Northern New mexico is knee stomping beautiful. Dont get me wrong. Green is great. But there are sooooo many other wonderful colors in New Mexico.

Are you still here? I'm on S. Side at work right now. I set my own hours, so I can get away for lunch anytime . I live about an hour N of here in the sticks (those trees you're talkin' about) in Blount county. Sorry I didn't catch you on the 1st.

When I leave New Mexico to go back eastward, I am always looking forward to big trees. After about 3 days I am feeling claustrophobic. I am used to looking at Mt. Taylor 70 miles west out the back window. I miss the trees, but can't live among them anymore. Sigh...

will270:Sorry, if ya like trees stay out of Idaho. We poor souls don't even have cactus or mesquite. Sagebrush and the occasional clump of river willow. Miserable, god-forsaken place, but can't scrape enough money together workin' minimum wage to move away. Depressing as hell.Clouder..

Will, come visit me in NH; 70% forest. Maine is even more so. Desert *is* pretty, but I like it here better.

So why isn't anyone talking about the "automatic tree watering program". How many days of rain, (and zero [0.00] sun) does it take to keep all those trees green? And the moss on the north side of the houses? Lots of rain and clouds. And if you fly over the Cascade mountains, don't look down. There is more dirt than trees in the national forest, last time I looked.
