I was at a gun show recently and was able to hold an HK USP Compact in 40 s+w. It was love at first feel, it felt like an extention of my arm. I am pretty sure it will be my next purchase but am unsure of weather to get the 40 or 45. Do any of you guys have one of the two mentioned? If so, how do you like it and what should I expect to pay for it. The guy at the show wanted $650.00 it was like new but still used. I told him I could buy one new for that he just smiled, kinda put you in mind of a snake. lol...

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

As one who has shot both calibers, I'd say take the .45. In the long run you'll be happier. I doubt you'd find one kicks any harder than the other, and big bores are still king. The latest articles about stopping power of gun calibers are still saying neither the 9 or 40 hi-tech loads really improved on the .45. The only other comment I can make is to look at both guns and compare size and weight. They may not be identical and you may find one feels better to you than the other. The subjective is still important.

I have an H&K USP Compact .40 and love it. It feels fery comfortable in my hand and I use it as my concealed carry gun, it still seems small enough for that. I believe the frame of the .40 and 9mm are the same size on the compact, but the .45 is a little bit larger gun. You my want to check. I paid $635.00 for mine new at Sportsman's Warehouse. Good luck.
