apparently my previous post or a reply to me post must have been in violation of some sort of standard for this forum because it is now gone
I'm just hoping there is another gun-nut out here who also digs swords and can post a link or a forum where I can find out what the value is of a couple of old swords i have obtained
surely someone knows a site. Thanks! Larry

uh, it is still there. As I said, what have you got, a lot of us know about edged weapons.
"...hit your enemy in the belly, and kick him when he is down, and boil his prisoners in oil- if you take any- and torture his women and children. Then people will keep clear of you..." -Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fisher, speaking at the Hague Peace Conference in 1899.

Thanks Jonk----the 1st item is a mosel 1909 issue short sword
condition seems to be VF+ as the blade is still in cosmoline----the wood has a few dings but overall quite decent
matching scabbard ser# E09178 has the Argentine creat on one side flanked by the Modelo Argentino 1909 the other side states it is made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co.Solingen----blade length is 14 3/4"
OAL= 20" also has the frog....this is not a bayonet---I have seen 1909 argentine bayonets----but this particular piece has no provision for attaching to a rifle and the blade guard is really neat with one syde curving down and one syde curving up
does anyone out here know anything about this piece? Thanks-to all!----Larry
