Is there any thing a 22-250 can do that a 223 can't?

what is your favorite load for a 22-250 for varmits? i have been loading the 55 grain balistic tip with 35.5 grains of varget powder. very nice load it does not tear up the animals at all.

I just picked up 2 1/2 case of 22-250 for really cheap only one problem i don't own a 22-250. So what should i buy? Wish I would have found the ammo a couple week earlier I would have got the CZ in 22-250 not 308. I really like the look and feel of my new CZ I just might have to get one more.

Does anyone use a 22-250 for coyotes. everyone around here tells me to use that caliber if I am going to use the pelts. But on other websites people are saying it's over kill that leaves to big of an exit wound if you want to save the pelts. Any comments or recommended calibers that won't leave big exit wounds would be apprecited[:p]

Thats a very nice load - I have not started loading for mine yet. I have a remington (on auction) and am trying to save up for the Kimber 84. I am using factory loads and saving up brass - The remington does pretty good with the 55grns ballistic tips....

    I have two loads.
    *55 grain sierra #1455
    *33.0 grains IMR 3031
    ________________________
    *Same bullet.
*39.0 grains H-380 (over 40.0 grains is a compressed load and very hot!)

The 3031 powder gives less recoil and is very accurate.
I also use a hornady bullet- 55 grain #22271, but I like the boatail on the sierra.
