I'm just guessing here -- is one the Arizona Memorial? I seem to recall that it qualifies as a cemetery because the bodies were never recovered.

No Gordian, but it should. It really should be.
The first one should be easy.I'll give you all the first.

    1. Arlington National Cemetery

The second is also a war time/service cemetery.

What's the name of the one that's located in eastern South Dakota, off of Interstate 90? Looks like a good size cemetary, I'm almost sure it's a military one. Does anyone know?

I was going to say Arlington, but when I went to their web site I thought I saw a picture showing a flag at the top of a very tall flagpole.

Bushy AR,I would also have thought that, but no.This is a very small Civil war cemetery.
One hint,it's on the east coast.

A subject that has always interested me is display of the flag. A review of what information I have is that there is no place in the U.S. where the flag is constantly flown at half-mast. At Arlington Cemetery it flies at half-mast from about 9:00 am until 5:00pm every day, Monday through Friday, because of the number of burials that are conductd there. At other times, such as weekends and holidays, it is flown full up. On Memorial Day all US flags can be flown at half-mast until either 12:00 noon or 12:20pm (opinions on this time vary). You can go to www.ace.unsw.edu.au/fotw/flags/faq.3.html or several other sites as reference.

Ronald, you are correct.I didn't mean to infer that the flag was flown 24/7,only that the flag was flown at half staff during proper display hours.

My information is that the second location that flies at half staff is
    2. Mackinac Island,Michigan just out side of Fort Mackinac.
If someone has info to the contrary, please correct me.

Good question, and I am not shure of the answer. I only live 3 hours from the bridge and have been to the island several times, just not on memorial day. You would think a Michigander would have a idea.
