How does this work if you're color blind?

I've been trying to use the color brown for my signature, but I find my code fails me sometimes after I edit a post once published. I'm still playing with it, within the rather meager 255 character limit (which includes code).

As you can see, sometimes I do better than other times. Sadly, even though HTML mode is on, it gets converted to Forum Code once published, which foils my code in the editing process. Fascinating, I'm sure.

I don't think I can do the color thing, either. Can somebody explain it for dummies?

Go to the top of the post....see the little box that says Black? Click on the arrow to the right of the box and you'll get a drop-down menu.
Click on whatever color you want (say red). This is what you should now see in the text box (I have to put the word "color" in the brackets because if I put the word for the actual color (red, green, brown, etc.) the brackets will disappear when I post the message. Anything that's typed in between the bracketed color selection will come out in whatever color you choose when you preview or submit your message.
The means you want everything AFTER that to be printed in that color. The means you want to stop printing in that color. Start color has no slash. Stop color has the slash. This is the same with font sizes and the font type selection.
Try it. You can do a practice message and then preview it without posting it. If it doesn't come out the way you want, just click on the Reset Fields box at the bottom.

I can't come to work today. The voices said, STAY HOME AND CLEAN THE GUNS!

Mudge the helpful (I hope)

If you want to change the color and the font size at the same time, you can cut and paste the arrangement to look like-
[font6] [/font6]
