Boots from Cabela's

I finally decided to indulge myself and stray from buying my usual pair of Rocky hunting boots and purchase a pair of Kangaroo Featherlight Boots from Cabela's. I thought they looked soft on the page and would be good on my old diabetic feet. So, I got all the forms out and started to fill them out. Then I noticed a statement in the description that stopped me cold. "Due to state law, these boots cannot be shipped to California". What is going on? Are they considered high capacity thinsulate, or will they go full auto while walking, didn't pass a drop test, or what? Any ideas?
Thanks,
muley the puzzled (with apologizes to Mudge)

Rumor has it that kangaroo`s are rare in california. They take care of animals but the human race is another story.Just my 2 cents

Probably has something to do with the "Captain and Mr. Green Jeans".
You know, those "Kalifornians" get real weird at times!

Yeah, it's the tree-huggers again. I dated a girl that spent the first semester of her senior year of college in Australia. She told me that kangaroos are pests out there. It sounds like the company that manufactures them are doing Australians a favor by turning them into boots.

Yes, until I found out that she was engaged to someone back home. She now works as an animal research tech in Maryland. She's always laughing about the PETA-types that protest outside of her laboratory. She's quite proud of the fact that she holds the record amongst her co-workers in the number of mice she can de-spleen in 15 minutes.

I guess you guys are right. Kangaroos must be on the endangered list in California. But, it's just Kangaroo boots. It's not like I wanted them lined with Spotted Owl feathers or something.
I guess I'll keep looking. Maybe Wolverines. Are they endangered?

Dont you just love those people that protest the killing of animals, all the while in their leather shoes, with their BMW,s with leather seats, while eating a Whopper at Burger King.

    muley man

being a diabetic myself, I know how your feet feel.
You buy the boots and have them shiped to me in WA, then I will ship them to you in KA. That will put a monkey wrench in their agenda.

Yes give us a report on the boots. I am diabetic also, and on the lookout for comfortable boots.

Never can bring myself to buy boots through the mail (except as stated below). Seems to me that boots are something that you have GOT to try on for fit.
The one exception is the Russel Moccasin company where you measure (trace an outline) of your feet and they custom make boots for you fron the tracing. Funny thing is they don't seem to cost much more. Check them out at http://www.russellmoccasin.com/index.html

That California must be "Sum Kinda" place to live. I wouldn't last a week there.
As for the boots Alpine, I have a pair, and they're the most comfortable I've ever worn. Light as a feather, warm as toast, and pamper my old feet like a baby's booties. When I ordered them, the sales lady told me they tend to be a bit small for the size numbers, and I should order a size larger than my foot size, which I did. They are a perfect fit.

OK...I'm a sucker for a good testimonial. I went to Moccasin's website and it looks pretty good. I'm going to send in tracings of my feet that they require. I hope my "two left feet" doesn't confuse them or hamper their boot making. Thanks for the help fellas. I'll let you know what happens........still don't know why Kangaroos are not allowed in California. They let everybody else come in.
