Attended our local Friend Banquet last night. Didn't win squat in any of the raffles but did pick up a very nice framed wildlife print at auction and spent a ton of $$. Have won several guns in past years but what made last night special was I had a good conversation with Joe Foss. I sure was nice to meet a true American Hero.

lt496.....Same thing happened to me at a banquet down in Arizona. We had the table next to Mr Foss. Since we were sitting so close together, he introduced himself, like I didn't know who he was, and we talked for about an hour. It was really interesting to hear some of his past adventures. Then, since he was the guest speaker, he went up and told some more stories. So, I got a double treat. I didn't win anything either, but what I went away with you can't win in an auction. It made me sick later to hear of the crap that the airport put him through because the Burger King rejects in charge of security can't tell a Congressional Medal of Honor from a box cutter.
