Any opinions so far on those recently available .308 H&K G3 "shorty" carbines that have just hit the ads? I notice they're reasonably priced. I've been thinking of getting into a semi-auto .308 and they're a lot cheaper than an AR-10 -- and of course they have the advantage of the H&K brand & engineering ..... but I haven't seen anything definitive about condition of the guns in general. Are they all coming via Federal?
