Ad in the Peddler's Post this week says, "nine AK mags, $30." I figure, hey, that's a deal. So I called tonight (paper just came out today), and the guy says come on over, I live across from the American Legion in Waynedale. Turns out he's a member of the Legion. He brings me these 9 mags out of his truck, and as soon I as I get them in my hand, it's a little dark but I can tell they're lightweight aluminum. I take a close look and I realize I've got 9 30-round AR mags in my hands. So I say, "Hey, these are AR mags." He wasn't convinced, but took my word (!) for it. A couple of them even have the green followers. So anyway I said, I've got an AK but not an AR, but I could probably turn these over anyway, what's your bottom dollar, and he says, well how about $25? He says, I'm pretty sure I paid $7.95 apiece for these. I said, okay.
Oh by the way -- his current favorite caliber? 7.65 x 54. I think he said he had a guy make some up, because he's having a little trouble finding the Argentine ammo.... I told him he should just get a Garand; he said he used to have one. Now he's got this bolt action that shoots 7.65x54 (with a .30-06 bullet). Go figure.
So I came home with 9 AR 30 rounders for $25. Some a little worn, but all very useable shape. Not a bad night's shopping for an auction or two... since I don't have an AR. Oh well.

I'll bet you will. Gee, with shipping I could break even. You know what, if I had a day job and didn't need the extra bucks, I'd do it.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
I've already got some 20s and 30s, maybe even a 40, from the LAST AR I owned, and sold when I needed some quick cash. You're right though. I'd like a CAR.
