I throw left handed, shoot a bow left handed, bat right handed, shoot guns right handed. As yall probably can tell do not know which hand to use.The bad thing about being left handed, everything is made for right handers.

yep 4wheeler, I have similar problem. I write left handed but have always bowled, shot, etc. with my right hand. A few months ago I started having trouble with my right elbow. That's when snarlgard suggested I try shooting with my left hand, and since I am left eye dominate, this seemed like a good idea. Only problem is, I am equally lethal with either hand!!! But you are right, it's all for right handers, but keep this in mind: The right side of the brain controls the left side of the body..so we are really the ONLY ONES IN OUR RIGHT MIND! (did I say that?)

Im strange Like that too.... I am for sure a lefty, but I can write with either hand, I play Golf righthanded, Switch hit in Baseball, but only throw left Handed. I shoot my rifles left handed, but I really dont care If there for lefties or not....Handguns primarily are left sided for me also, but Ive been working on my off hand shooting.

lets all be responsible! shoot a criminal! Remember 0% of firearms pull there own trigger!

I am basicly left handed. I write left handed, but I golf and bat right handed. I shoot bow and firearms left handed.

When I was in first grade (1964) my teacher announced that left handed people were not normal and made three of us change to right hand. When one of us did anything with our left hand she would rap the offending child with a ruler....She was fired the year after I had her.

I do get tired of the lack of left handed bolt action rifles and left hand shotguns. When I do find one it sell for 40.00 or more than a right handed firearm. I can't even guess about the amount of money I have spent having Amb. safeties put on my semi-autos.

    I'll stop whining now...

Armed-Female---I forgot my left eye is dominate also.I may try shooting left handed, may just work.
William81----I knew some parents made their young son switch to being right handed because they thought being left handed was not normal.
Hey do not get me started on trying to find a left-handed bow!!

William81, I had that teacher stood over me with a ruler until I wrote with my right hand. Still don't write very well but, I write right handed.

Face it you live in a right handed world. I would have been semi- handicapped like yourself if not for loving parents when i was in diapers and it didn't make 2 hoots in hell to me which hand i used. they loved and guided me in the right direction If you are truly intrested in becomming normal, stop using your left hand for anything and granted you have a reasonable amt. of unused gray matter between your ears, like most of us and you are truly commited in a short period of time you will be able to use either hand, for if you so desire and don't give up you can teach the right hand everything that the left one already knows. Good luck in your endeavors.

I'm a left handed person which supposedly makes me "right-brained," and I do have a more artistic aptitude as a result, and am better at creative stuff than math. I shoot, eat, bat, throw a ball and write left handed. I have good dexterity in both hands because of 10 years of classical piano lessons, and the fact that I do a lot of typing. But I do very few things naturally with my right hand other than play lead parts on the piano, so I'm not really ambidextrous. I do not have problems with guns, though I avoid those most obviously designed for proper use by right-handers only.

Ok guys here it goes. Write, eat, shoot a rifle, drink, used to smoke, dominate eye, kick a ball, all with the left hand or foot. Now the right side, throw a ball, bowl, shoot a bow, pistol, hockey stick. In the service they made me shoot right-handed, just barely qualified. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to IT.

I'm a full lefty. You learn all kinds of tricks to get by. Like shoot o/u or Browning shotguns, Autos with tang safeties work well, single shots are great and some guns are cast and some are straight stocked.

Lefty here. I can shoot either side. Throw either side. Bat either side. I'm left eye dominant though so lefty is my natural side. First grade teacher tried to get me to write right side. I kept turning my paper for lefty. She'd turn it back to righty. I finally figured, if she was gonna' be that hard-headed, I'd just leave it right-sided and that's why I write up-side down.

WHAT IS GOLF????? No - I know - just very bad at it, they won't let me carry my shotgun in the bag. Lefty all the way here, mostly due to deformed right hand and arm. I do shoot left, but work the bolt with my right.
I am sure there is some group conspiracy against lefties. Can we claim hate crimes when they rob us because we are left handed. I think we should have special laws made to keep righties from forcing us into doing things right handed. I'm sure I can sue somebody over this (if you know me - you know I'm just kiddin). 4Wheeler - I have the same saying on my hardhat - "It was like that when I got here"

Lefty by habit and thus am better at most things with my left hand but am nearly ambidextrous in most things. Much better with a rapier or knife in my left hand, and haven't really tried shooting much with my right hand. Can use a bow with either hand. This topic made me curious so I'll try out the right hand at the range tomorrow night and see how it handles a handgun and shotgun.

So many guns, so little money . . .

I admit to thinking about going to a two gun rig to see how I'd like it. I currently carry a double mag holder on the off-side, but they say the fastest reload is a second gun. This is not easy in the summertime with a CCW, of course, but could be done, theoretically at least, in the winter. With one gun, Condition 3 (with chamber empty) is realistic because one can rack the slide with the off-hand during the draw. If one carries two guns, but only draws one at a time, I'm not sure if I'd prefer to train my off-hand to shoot. I'd almost rather practice a drill wherein both guns were drawn together, aimed at the target, and fired either together or alternately. That would mean chamber loaded carry and a safe trigger, at least light double action. Either that, or a matched pair of guns with ambidextrous (or changeable) safeties so that a safety was available under each thumb. We haven't heard much about true two-gun drills since the cowboy wild west shooting demonstrations at circuses and such. But at one time, two guns were not all that uncommon. I believe gun writer Jerry Ahern used to carry a double rig with two Detonics .45s. It would be interesting to know if any of the special ops are carrying two matched handguns and practicing simultaneous draw, aim, and shoot drills. My guess is that you would have to look straight ahead at the target and learn to fire the guns from within your line of sight, but aligning the sights in a modified fashion, and discharging rounds in rapid, alternating fire. Sound plausible?
