Sarge, I was in a little gunshop in Va the other day and the old guy had 2 full cases of 5mm ammo. It was quite dusty but he'll get rich on it one day. By the way where did you order the ammo from and what did it cost? It might be the first time I've ever had the ammo before the gun.

Well you won't get rich off me. The new .17 is 22 mag based. Unlike the 5mm that was a case unto itself. I'll just rebarrel to .22 mag if it comes to that. But I doubt it would become fully obsolete if it did fail. There hasn't been a gun chambered for 22wrf for over 50 years but they still make a batch of ammo every 5 years or so. Same case head there too.WOODS

I hear this new Hornady caliber goes out at 2550 fps. Can you imagine a BB-sized round at that speed? Might be fun to play with. I have a funny feeling about this one. It could turn out to be good for something. What, I don't know yet.... Okay, I'm only half kidding. I'll wait and see what it can do. Probably makes more sense than flechettes....
