Rugerniner: Just for the heck of it I went to www.combatfan.com after your last post on the subject. They do offer COMBAT episodes on laser discs that are marketed through a Jap company and there are also video copies of episodes available through various members on the COMBAT forum board. I like watching COMBAT but those people at combatfan.com are really TOO FANATICAL for me. Did you ever notice some familiar scenes in the Saving Private Ryan movie that Speilberg used from the COMBAT series?

No, it's been many years since I saw an episode of COMBAT. I'll go back to the website and see about the VHS films. I did see the Laser Disc advertised but didn't click on it. Aren't Laser Disc sorta like Beta's and 8-Tracks?The Laser Disc has Japanese subtitles. Ha Ha

I don't know if SAVING PRIVATE RYAN was intentionally part homage or not, but he definitely borrowed from other sources. The whole sniper scene was very remeniscent of the similar scene in FULL METAL JACKET. I have thought about going through the movie and playing "what's that from?"
