I'm hopeless... G30 calls my name...

Yes, I'm not working regularly, the band brings in a little but the folks are having to help me stay afloat right now. Yet I see an ad for a Glock 30 for $450 last week, and I just HAVE to try to get some money together to check it out. I move heaven and earth all week. Finally I call, the guy still has the gun, so I go over. It is good as new, with 2-10 rd. and 1-9 rd. mag in the deal. I ask for his best price, he says $400 (!!!), and I'm writing a check faster than you can says "offeror's in the poorhouse."

Now I'm once again a Glock owner (there's a permanent inner grin on my face today). Glock is still my all time favorite, I've had over half a dozen, and it's by far the gun I shoot best and most naturally -- and my head is still spinning from the sheer irrationality of it and the fact that I got my favorite caliber, the .45, at such a great price. Could you pass up a $400 Glock 30 with 3 mags? Not a scratch on it? The prejudiced, and resellers, need not answer that...

Of course, now I'll have to sell some things to make up the dif or I'll feel guilty about the money. But I had just decided I needed a G30 for my carry gun and bam, one pops up at far less than I expect I'll need to spend. Dumb luck. Dumb when you figure I need to pay my dentist.... Few things excite me like a small victory in my gun hobby though, and that thing was buzzing around in my head all week --so maybe that's the point of the exercise. Fun is fun. It doesn't have to make sense. I've got it bad.

There was one just like the one you described, except it only had two mags, that went for $360 last week on the auction.

Nahh, just greenin' ya. Sounds like a helluva deal. Congrats. As the old saying goes, "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand." Good luck with the new piece.

Congradulations! I know how you feel, I just bought a new Remington 700 in 308 just because I wanted to, didn't need it but the price was such that I didn't want to let it slip through my fingers. Now I have to find an equally attractive deal on a new scope, Leupold, Burris or Nikon.

Now THAT's funny. I'm 53, I've been playing music in bands since the late sixties (I saw Hendrix and the Who live after their first albums came out), and yes, I'm old enough to know better than to write a check for a gun just because I "have to have it." No, I'm not.... Like somebody says here, "the gun made me do it." I haven't regretted it yet. DO you you know this little sucker slides right into the front pocket of my jeans like my Bulldog Pug used to do? This is one heck of a .45. I didn't fully appreciate the other one I had, the first time around. I think I've found my gun.

    Congrats Offeror,
Let us know how it does. I've been looking to get either the 27, 30, or 36 when my bank account and girlfriend say it is permissible[;)] Love them Glocks, easy to clean, easy to shoot.

    Love them Beavers

Name a few clubs that you play and I may drop by some night. Now keep in mind I don't go into W houses! I don't drink either but I enjoy good music. Were you around when that old boy with all the lights was discoing all over town. Saw him at a place called Cagneys I believe and all the young gals wanted to dance with him because reporters were always taking pictures of him and putting them in the paper.

kingjoey -- I like the 35 but ever since Para and Glock successfully double-stacked the .45 with a comfortable grip, I've never wanted to go back to a single stack. I figure 10 rounds is my minimum. Although I do still have a Star PD for old time's sake, it's a second gun in most situations.

Rosie -- What's a W club? (I don't drink either.) In September you'll find us in the Legions around town. The schedule is at www.fortonline.com/generations/Schedule.htm. We're due for a name change too, but I'll let you know if it changes.
