Computer Crash here too

I think I heard somebody say they had a crash recently, over a virus. Mine may have been over a corrupted install or conflict, but it took me down so far I couldn't even boot Windows Me in Safe mode. After 2 days of trying everything, I finally went to the recovery disk set and put my computer all the way back to original config -- meaning the whole set of upgrades and new software to load all over again. Boy, do I wish I had hi-speed I-access for downloads at the moment. But I finally cleaned up one old problem. When I reinstalled, I found that I was back to MSN Internet Access software as opposed to that clunker called MSN Explorer. It was my excellent luck to call tech support and get them to let me continue using it with POP email and IE instead of MSN Explorer. This will only mean something to those who know what I'm talking about here, but it's a great boon to be able to "go back" to POP email on MSN. It runs better smoother, and you don't have that slow interface when downloading your HTTP mail to Outlook Express..... Oh, well, I'm really tired -- I've been up all hours fixing this. Trust me when I say if you have a bad enough crash, NO computer tech is a real expert -- it's all trial and error. And when the problem is bad enough, it's re-format the C drive time. Well, at least it's cleaned up now. I'll be more selective what I load, and I'll surely find a better way to do my backup. All I had was emergency boot disks, which, trust me, are not the same as having a current image of your hard drive backed up. I've been back to the DOS stone age for the last few days. I have returned....
