Indiana Senate passes gun immunity bill

The Indiana full Senate did pass its own gun bill today which, according to the paper, gives immunity "if the gun was obtained through burglary, robbery, theft, criminal conversion, or receiving stolen property." This means, basically, that if a gun is taken without your permission and used in a crime, it's not your fault (duh). Sad they have to write a law that says what should be common sense. But then, that's what the founders thought they were doing when they drafted the Bill of Rights, and look how wise that turned out to be.

The Indiana House has already passed a version of this, and once the two versions are reconciled in the details, it will now go to the governor for signature.

T. Jefferson: "[When doing Constitutional interpretation], let us [go] back to the time when [it] was adopted. [Rather than] invent a meaning [let us] conform to the probable one in which it was passed."
