PHONE SOLICITOR-what fun I had

Just got off the phone with a fellow trying to give me a great deal on a newspaper subscription. He went through his usual speel about what a great paper it is, and how great this seven week subscriptioin would be.
I gave him the line I always give when his paper calls;
"your paper is to liberal bias for me"
Usually the seller just thanks me, cause they dont know what to make of that comment.
But this guy got really defensive. He told me that the editorial might be bias, but the news is the news. That cant be bias, cause the reporter is only reporting the news. I told him that it most certainly can have a left slant, 'cause the person reporting can be reporting it from his left perspective.
He told me all papers report the news the same way. I corrected him, telling him that The WASHINGTONB times, does not report the news the same way as the New York times, or the Philadlephia Inquirer.
He then went on to tell me I could go to the editorial "soundboard" to voice my concerns.
I informed him that I have written letters to his editor, and they omiited just enough of my letter to make me look like Tim McVeigh.
He made one last stab, I declined and thanked him, and he laughed and hung up.
They must have put me on a "hard *" list, cause like I said earlier, they usually just stutter when I give my line.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.
I spent a lot of time last week e-mailing congresspeople (and the P and VP) reminding them that the NRA is a grassroots organization of over 4 million Americans, and not an elite special interest like Big Oil or Big Tobacco needing "campaign reform." We're just a few million voters trying to participate effectively in our political process, and paying our dues too.
As for telemarketers, thank god Indiana now has a "do-not call list" with the Attorney General's office, and my numbers are on it. The calls have subsided!
