I think this has something to do with ego's and the males competitive nature.....I once rode up to a stop light on a little "rice burner", next to me was a guy on a Harley, his eyes said it all.

Once upon a time, we had a difficult member at our little club.

The way our club is arranged, you cannot safely use the pistol range when someone is using the rifle range.

Someone was using the pistol range, and this fellow showed up to do some rifle shooting. He thought the fellows using the pistol range should yield. They thought otherwise. He became insistent, and even hinted that he might just go to the bench and start shooting anyway.

He is no longer a member of the club.

There were two others who were asked to leave and never return. We kept finding empty beer cans in the trash cans at the club.

Our club is not monitored. Members are on their honor to abide by the rules.

The club secretary, who lives nearby, started watching more closely, and checking every time someone started down the road to the range. He finally caught these two old boys drinking beer and shooting.

    They were summarily expelled.

There is probably nothing in the rules at your club or mine that requires members to behave as gentlemen, but it should go without saying.

Harleeman -- Truer words than "I THINK NOT" were never spoken, in this case.

Harleeman ,use psicology without emotional involment, you can "henpeck" the guy into place with help from within the
same group, the ones disliking his attitude ,if shove comes to push
just get the regulation book and fight for your place in the pack.

The "displaced" will be him, exept if he is the topdog,in that case lower your tail and run for cover ,he owns the circus...

Our club is like nunn's. It is on the honor system. We encourage LEO's to become members (without charge). Some members thought that since they did not pay, they were somehow inferior members, and as such, should yield to paying members. It has since been explained to everyone that once ANYONE is a member, ALL members are equal. First come, first shoot. We give free membership to LEO's with the "hope" that they will be on our side, should anyone want to close down the club. Should it ever come to that.Harleeman1030; Stick to your guns. (pun intended).

At the Club I belonged to in PA. (Pequea Valley Sportsman Association) we had a bar at the Club House with a Bar that opened at 7:00am on weekends.

In the Winter we would all be inside for the Block Shoot, When our name was called we would put down our beer grab our Shotgun off the wall, step three feet out the side door and shoot.

Come back in, put our gun on the rack and wait till they called our name again.

    Never any problems.

sfetty-- LOL! Good one. The only American hero who got that way by running over a hundred miles an hour, putting cops and citizens lives on the line, and getting himself subdued with excessive force at the end of the chase. He oughta be on a bubble gum card.
