More guns than usual in ads -- something's up?

I must say there are more guns than usual up for sale in this weeks classified newsrag. It makes me wonder if the economy is taking a toll on more folks lately. I know this tends to be an industrial economy in NE Indiana and we've taken a lot of layoff hits lately. Here's some samples:

AutoOrd Thompson M27A-1 new cond $700
Walther PPK .380 stainless, 2 mags, nice $350
Remington 878 Automaster rare 12 ga. semi, great cond (no price)
Desert Eagle 50 cal $1000 obo
HKSL8-1 $1700
Gun collection for sale reasonable
Sig 228 9mm like new $550
Kimber compact, never fired, 4 years old, rosewood, $400
Bushmaster shorty AR heavy BBL, less than 100 rds, $800 (obo)
Somebody's also selling his pre-ban FNFAL, asking $2000.

I wonder what's going on..... This is more than the usual number of interesting items. Not to mention a few government models and other goodies.

    offeror,

Very interesting observation, I've never really checked the local newspaper for gun buys, but may start. Do know that if that Kimber compact, never fired, 4 years old, rosewood, $400 was here in Arizona I'd grab it up real fast.

I called him tonight -- the Kimber is sold. Big surprise.

I doubt much else did, don't know bout the rest of ya, but minus that kimber, I could pretty much find any of those items at the same price any day of the week, and some for alot less.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I guess you're right, if the AR is post-ban. My point had more to do with the number of people parting with their nicer guns. It has gone up. There are more interesting pieces showing up, the ad list is running longer. This is the first Tommy gun I've seen for sale in quite a while, and somebody got his dream .50 Desert Eagle and decided to turn it into cash. And it's still tough to find a PPK under 400. And apparently whoever is selling the 878 thinks it's a rarity, so.... Anyway, layoffs breed gun sales, and we've had a lot of layoffs around here lately. It is ripe buying time if you've got money. Our first gun show comes up in October, too.
