Need a little help with computer

I need a little help with my computer and I know they are a lot of computer experts on here. Somehow an e-mail slipped by my message center and is in my mailbox. I am satisfied it contains a virus and I need to delete it without clicking on it. I am running Microsoft outlook express. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

This may help..Go to Outlook Express, click on "tools", click on "options", click on "read". Then uncheck the box that says "automatically download message when viewing, etc." This kept my emails from automatically opening and you can highlight them for deleting. You can see by the small envelope whether it is open or closed. I suggest that you send yourself a message and see if you can highlight and delete it without opening it first.

The other trick I've used is to delete two or three messages at once by using the shift key. Click on a message higher up in the list, and holding the shift key down select an entire group to be discarded by clicking the lowest message in the group. This will highlight several on the list without opening them. Then use the Delete key to get them out of your In box. Then RIGHT-click on your deleted messages folder and select empty deleted messages folder. At that point, it should be gone with the rest.
