If you're talkinga about the Performance Center guns, I think they're excellent pieces by good craftsmen who know what they're doing. If you're talking about some other tactical guns, I still think S&W craftsmen are good and know what they're doing.

S&W makes excellent revolvers, and their performance center guns rock. But other than the Sigma's and SW99, I don't like their mainstream autos. The trigger pull could be better, and there are two many other companies making better firearms for less money.

    Just my opinion.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

You should check out the S&W XD pistols. They have the accessorie rail, excellent trigger pull, and what appears to be the hybrid of a Sig and a Glock with a 1911 type grip safety, excellent accuracy and reliability, and the local gunshop here sells them for $425 a pop.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

The rap on S&W semi-autos used to be that there were too many parts, that they hadn't got all the kinks out of stainless, and that they weren't quite as reliable feeders as they could have been. By the time they went from 3-digits to 4-digit models, the kinks had been pretty much worked out. You can, however, still buy guns that need fewer parts to operate correctly. But they make quality -- I've always thought it would be fun to own an FBI 1076.
