Glock snubbie?

Get a load of this. It's my Glock 27, with one of the high-cap magazines from my former Glock 23. In the photo on the left, I've added one of those nice aftermarket grip extender collars by A&G to the pre-ban 13-rd G23 mag. On the right is the same config with a Scherer+2 mag floorplate added. At this point, it is just about the same size (barrel length as well as grip length) as a small-frame "hog-leg" snubbie, hence the thread title. I pre-planned doing this. The G23 was still just a little too big for some concealed carry, so I decided I could use the G27 without sacrificing firepower if I simply sold the G23, kept the extra G23 mags and outfitted them for use with the G27. Bingo. A&G currently makes the grip extender collars for G19/23, G17/22, G20/21, P13&P14, and the 1911. (I don't work for them, I simply think it's a great idea.) Installs instantly by slipping over the mag and tightening a small hex screw -- don't overtighten, just snug it down.

Yeah, the Pachmayr gripper may be one layer too many. Personally I like the config on the left. In fact it's nearly identical in size and shape to the PT145 in that setup, but holds 13 rounds of .40 to the Millennium's 10 rounds of .45. The gun's grip looks sleeker without the Pachmayr thing, and I've gone back and forth on it to be sure which feels better. After all, looks ain't everything...

Gotta agree with you with the one on the left. It doesn't look too bad. The right one looks too overkill.I wouldn't give up on the 2nd one though... Maybe a full size hogue handall will balance things out? It will sure hide the line between the grip extender and the base. Maybe?

I don't mind the lines -- the parts mate pretty well. A slide-on grip that covers everything will prevent switching mags. I have several hi-cap G23 mags which are now outfitted with the A&G collars and they are of course interchangeable. Can't use the typical kydex 2-mag holders though. The mags are too wide at the base to fit. Gotta use the soft ballistic variety multi-mag holders. But this is superior to having a long narrow stick mag poking out of the bottom of a short grip.

Okay, I wouldn't want to do A&G Supply an injustice by showing their product with an ill fitting slip-on grip over it, so here's the gun with their extender installed as intended, on a G23 mag to fit the Glock 27, giving 13 rds. of firepower in a gun whose grip is not much longer than the same gun with a +1 finger groove extension on a 9-rd post-ban mag.
