Fred Huntington (1912-1998) in 1943 Fred started expermenting with handmade die sets. The first models were made from scrap automobile axles . The bullets were used for varmit hunting and a popular target out West was the rock chuck a smaller cousin of the Eastern woodchuck. From this Fred called his bullet forming die the Rock Chuck Bullet Swage---RCBS for short.
