We woke up to a white blanket on the ground and Trista wants to put up a tree and the boys want to pull out the snowmobile.

I say OK,ok settle down now, don't fret we have months to go.

Hey ECC- how much you got on the ground up there?

This has been one of the coldest Decembers ever here in the Northeast.

That's right. April 2nd and it's snowing again. Nothing accumilated on the roads and only enough to make the ground white, but it's going to be nasty driving tonight and early tomorrow morning.

After yesterday's all-day drizzle, I woke up to see snow falling outside my windows.

The only downside to yesterday's semi-thaw followed by today's snow is that Holly's more or less trapped at her place by bad roads. So, as a result, I get to sit around in my mostly empty apartment watching tv and being bored.

I measured 18 1/2 inches at my house in Upstate NY.And somehow my school wasn't closed.I couldnt even get my car door open to get in it. I had to get a running start out of my driveway to crest the hump of snow that the snowplow had made.I counted 4 cars off the road on the way over.I feel shafted, and not just because I couldnt spend the day making mini-crater holes in the snow with my SKS.If someone gets into an accident or hurts themselves because the school forced them to go when the roads arent ready, it's the school's as$ in the sling.

Bullzeye.....sorry to hear about your tough row to hoe. Had to DRIVE to school. When I was a boy, I had to walk 2 miles to school. In 3 feet of snow.....up hill....both ways...without shoes. Usually had Wheaties (without milk, of course) for breakfast, though. And I was happy to do it.You wuss!!! Mudge the martyr

Even I had it better than Mudge! No snow in FL and I drove the Ford Tractor to school so I could get right to work when I got out of school. I had to join the Marines when Daddy put lights on that tractor!

7mm, you can have all the snow you want; just keep it off my roof & driveway. Bullzeye - we only had about 10" overnight in this part of NH, but the plow didn't show & our district seems to be about the only one in the state w/o at least a delayed opening. My teens are of course too cool to ride the bus, so they were booted out of bed an hour early & equipped w/ shovels; it's a *long* driveway! I believe they would share your feelings . . . . But unlike some others, I remember *exactly* how I felt when I was that age and that was my chore, and my feelings were no different! Gawd, but I hate snow.

Shucks, Bullzeye that ain't nothin. When I was a boy I had two paper routs to deliver before school and that was after milking 25 cows. One say it snowed 3 feet and I ended up getting to school 20 minutes late (after walkind 4 1/2 miles). The principal was not understanding and tanned my hide anyway. Bob the champeen liar.

No snow here. I live in New England by choice and it hasn't snowed here yet. Massachusetts is too far south. Time to move to NH...

Gosh Mudge, you must have gone to the same school as my mother! She walked up hill both ways too. 'course she walked 3 miles and was a little bitty girl...I rode to school and walked home (up and down hill). I must be the transitional generation.

In highschool, we had a small rodeo team (one year it was me and two other guys, the next year just me after they graduated).I rode my horse to school several times. The principal (team roper who started and pushed the program), drove us and hauled the horses for us. I thought it was pretty cool.

HEY MUDGE, you forgot to tell 'em how much 3 feet of snow sucked when you were only Two and a Half feet tall. People forget that they weren't always BIG!
