Everyone tells me USA Mags are junk, and I know as many of you guys that told me that it has to be true.Ive been shooting 20rd mags USA brand in a decked out SKS,and so far the three mags Ive used have worked fine.So is it typical they work well for a while and start messing up? Or what is the Problem exactly with them.

Thanks in advance!

I have had problems with them from the start with my ab-10 but I found out that I should load and reload them to weaken spring and they did work better but stll give problems with not injecting next cartridge into barrel, but these were 50 round mags.

They're not all bad. If you get a batch that works, more power to you. They make a lot of different mags for different guns, and I think some work better than others. I believe their Glock mags were pretty bad, and I avoided buying them for that reason.

I believe there are cases where original mags are plastic but USA makes metal -- causing extra wear to mag release parts on some guns. Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, but there was a definite rap against metal Glock mags a while back.

Heft one next to original equipment and you can often see & feel the difference. Mainly, it's quality, one way or another - quality materials, quality control, etc. They're not always bad, and probably fine for practice. I'd just rather load the best I've got for serious use. At the range, wring 'em out, see if they function well enough to serve.

Bought several usa mags and it's like some work and some don't . You just have to keep the good ones and return the bad ones.

Rugster, I saw on an earlier post that you live in Wytheville, Va. I am going thru there on 9/20 on my way to Boone, NC. Where is a good place to stop and eat in Wytheville? As long as the resturant isn't beside a Wal-mart. My wife will be with me and I can only go in so many Wal-marts per month. I think I am over my quota for this month. To avoid the temptation for her, it would be best if I can stay out of eyesight of any Wal-marts. I am ONLY thinking of her best interests. Ha Ha

Im with you on Walmart,Wytheville has all your usual fast food places,I imagine you would like a good meal.If you like Sea food to steak and salad Ocean Bay is your best bet.I hate to tell you but you need to get off of exit 70 on I 81 right beside the new super Walmart and go Strait toward Mcdonalds and the Hospital stay strait until you come to the Court House, turn left and its less than a Mile and your there. If its morning hours Shoney's Breakfast bar is hard to beat its right beside the Interstate. As far as Walmart goes you could let your wife go to Walmart and we could get together and go to New Era Shooters supply.

    Best!!

Funny you mention it, I have 4 usa brand 30rnd mags for my sks, and they all have functioned flawlessly. I just think, sometimes they may need a little TLC applied and they will work fine.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.
