Five Men Indicted On Stolen Gun Charges
Prosecutor: Thefts Were An Inside Job
GREENBELT, Md. -- Five men have been indicted on charges of stealing more than 80 guns from a pawnshop in Laurel, earlier this month.
The thefts happened on Sept. 10, at the A-1 Pawnbroker on Laurel-Bowie Road. A grand jury in Greenbelt handed down the indictment Monday.
Eighteen-year-old John Loving Junior and 19-year-old Marcus Holland, both of Capital Heights, Md., worked at the store. Prosecutors said the two gave three other men information about the shop, including the location of surveillance cameras.
James Williams, 19, of Forestville, Md., Ryan Benedicto, 19, and 18-year-old Darrion Kinsey, both of Capitol Heights are the other men charged.
An ATF official said thefts of guns are becoming more common since stricter gun control laws are making it more difficult for criminals to get them legally. http://www.nbc4.com/news/1683442/detail.html
"If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege." - Arkansas Supreme Court, 1878
