I'm watching it for the first time right now. Not how I envisioned the reaction of the general public after a nuke blast on American soil. Seems way to orderly. No looting. Everyone is cooperating with each other. I think this is the last time I will watch this show. I expected alot of violence, looting, burning, and survivial of the fittest. This show sucks!

They did show some infighting and looting (when people were fighting to get as much gasoline as possible from the gas station before they ran out), but the Mayor showed up and admonished them for their selfishness and reminded them of the need to work together to survive. I'd imagine that in a close-knit small town like that where everyone knows everyone else, people would be less willing to bury an ax into their skull of someone they knew all their life just so they could get some extra food.

5000 country people..2 hours outside of Denver.
Reacting EXACTLY as I would expect.

The bigger cities that are left will be burned to the ground...the savages will overwhelm whatever authorities are still on the job.

The only way the bigger cities MIGHT be saved...is if the authorities shoot looters and the savages starting instantly.

hey now!! us out on the West Coast are watching it now!! I liked the pilot. IMHO, not too far off from what I imagine it would be like in a small town. We'll see how tonight's episode it.
