sunburn relief?

Went to the lake this weekend and didn't even think about sunscreen until it was two hours too late -- DarkStar is now RedStar, burnt from head to foot.

Any good suggestions for sunburn relief?

Thanks....

I got one suggestion for that, send that warm sun up here! It has been raining just about every other day for 2 months and here it is late May and we had frost this morning.

We keep a big bottle of aloe vera gel in the fridge. It doesn't have to be cold, but man that stuff feels good when you slather it on the burned skin.

    Aloe Vera gel, applied ASAP.

First time i went to Mexico i promptly fried my back, the owner of the little hotel i was at saw me (Stupid Gringo!),led me to his garden and slathered the burn with fresh stuff...no pain,no blisters, no peeling. Miraculous.

For instant relief mix WHITE vinegar and cold water in equal parts in a bowl.Soak a couple of washclothes in mixture and apply to burned area. This is good for extreme sunburns for minor burning use Aloe gel.

Thanks guys, I tried the Vinegar and Water and the Aloe Vera gel. Since I am already blistering the vinegar burns a bit, but after the burning is done my shoulders and head felt much better (I feel like I can actually shrug my shoulders!). I got some aloe vera gel with lidocaine for the legs and it is working well also.
    Thanks again....

Here in Arizona we just stay tan all year round and never worry about burning.

Saxon, that was facinating. All this time I thought the retirees were only boosting silverware, packets of sugar and condiments. Will you be my psuedo-adoptive parent?

Best thing for a sunburn is aloe vera. The plant itself is the best, not just the gel in the bottle.. Take a leaf, cut it open and rub it on the burn, use as many as you like, and the plant recovers well.
I have also found vinegar burns too much to use.
Wear loose clothing if you have too.. best is not to cover it at all but if you have kids, that is hard to do

    Good luck
