Bill O'Reilley Rocks!!!

He just called the Palestinian Liberation Organization's representative to the US "Stupid". O'Reilley posed this question: "Do you concede that there are Palestinians who are opposed to any peace process?" The PLO guy responded: "Yes, but the Israelis are responsible...." that's where O'Reilley cut him off and exploded.

I am of the opinion that the conflict in Israel is a pile of * and everybody's stepped in it. I also believe that you can't believe what either side is saying...they both want to come out smelling like roses in the world media.

I just hope it ends soon. That place is the cradle of 3 major religions and it's a shame that all 3 can't enjoy it without fear of being killed.

Suicide Attack Kills 15 in Israel
Tue May 7, 6:57 PM ET
By JASON KEYSER, Associated Press Writer

(RISHON LETZION, Israel AP) - A suicide attack shattered a pool hall in this Israeli city late Tuesday, killing more than 15 people and wounding at least 60, police said.

The explosion occurred at 11:03 p.m., as Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) was meeting in Washington with President Bush (news - web sites).

A police spokesman told Israel TV at least 15 people were killed in the attack 10 miles south of Tel Aviv.

Al Manar TV in Lebanon said it received a claim of responsibility from the Islamic militant group Hamas.

Hamas spokesman Mahmoud Zahar said from his home in Gaza City that he could not confirm the claim, but "if it is a martyrdom operation, it means that Israel has lost its war against the Palestinians and the Palestinian resistance has proved that it is capable of reaching the enemy everywhere."

Since the current round of Israeli-Palestinian violence erupted in September 2000, there have been nearly 60 suicide bombings. A suicide attack on March 27 that killed 28 people set off Israel's large-scale military operation in the West Bank two days later, aimed at uprooting what the Israelis called the "terrorist infrastructure."

The last suicide attack came on April 12 when a bomber blew herself up at a bus stop in Jerusalem, killing six people. That attack came with Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) in the region trying to arrange an end to the violence.

David Baker, an official at the prime minister's office, called Tuesday night's explosion "another murderous attack against Israelis."

"It is clear that the Palestinian Authority (news - web sites) has not given up its terror actions and has not given up its murderous path," he said.

The blast went off at a three-story building in the heart of the industrial section of Rishon Letzion, a city that is home to some 100,000 people. Part of the ceiling on the top floor collapsed. A sign outside read "Sheffield Club, snooker, cafeteria."

Meir Nitzan, the mayor of Rishon Letzion, said more than 60 people had been taken to hospitals.

Yeruham Mandola, a spokesman with the Israeli ambulance service Magen David Adom, said part of the three-story building had collapsed. "Some of the wounded are trapped in the building," he said.

An Israeli woman identified on Israel Radio as Hanit Azulai said she was on her way home when she heard "a huge explosion."

"I turned the corner and I saw the whole building go up before my eyes."

I agree with O'Reilly 98% of the time and the 2% I disagree I still respect his opinion simply because he does not pull any punches.

He sure pulled his punches when he had Rosie O'Lesbo on his program.

I missed that one evil. I did hear, as you say, that he cut her a lot of slack.

It was, however, Bill O'Reilly and Tim Russert, during an interview by one of the other, who agreed after 9/11 that "we've all been deputized...we're all soldiers!" The concept seemed to surprise them, but both agreed enthusiastically that this was true.

As in, gee, all individual Americans are the citizen militia. Now, where have I heard that before?

He wears a little thin on me. I watch his program pretty much every night but don't always agree with his take on things or with his style of interviewing. He's not really the sharpest knife in the drawer but tries to make up for his lack of knowledge on issues by being boisterous and overbearing. He THINKS he's an expert on every topic and no matter what REAL expert he has on his program, within a couple of minutes Bill is telling the REAL expert just how things actually are. I think he's let his ego get the best of him.

I hate the yelling and interrupting style of TV interviewing that has become so popular lately. I don't know where they got the idea that this is a good way to do a professional news analysis program, but it was bad enough when there were only one or two shows, like Crossfire, doing it. It reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live skit, "Jane, you ignorant slut!"

Unfortunately, O'Reilly does a little of that, but he's not the worst offender. What's-his-name on "Hardball" and a number of other so called news anchor/hosts don't seem happy until they get people talking over the top of each other. It's idiocy and I very much hope a quickly-passing fad. You know they're sitting there with "faders" for everybody's mics, so they're letting that crap go on on purpose.

The second most annoying thing, and in a way more greivous because these are supposed to be professionals who should know better, are the interviewers who interrupt their interviewees, not rarely but constantly. I could throttle them. They seem to be thinking they're not getting enough "face time" so they keep inserting some inane question which almost invariably lowers the level of intellectual discourse rather than enhancing it, or worse, keeps the guest from finishing a fascinating point.

In fact, somebody suggested, when ABC toyed with dumping Nightline, that Koppel start doing that sort of thing. I wanted to slap them. Trust me when I say I'm channel surfing for the news program that does NOT have two people shouting at once. Can't stand Alan Keyes for the same reason, that and the fact that this guy who was once considered a great Black political Hope turns out to be an opinionated, out-of-step, self-important dork.

He now has a radio show called "The Radio Factor". I have a few radio shows that I like to catch (Rush, O'reilly, Hannity, Glen Beck) but I still think that Michael Savage takes the cake.

Beach, Fox News Satellite is where I catch him - 2000 & 2300 (repeat of earlier show), EST, Mon - Fri. Saturday evening they do a compilation of the more interesting segments.

I don't buy into all his points, but he does seem to be a straight shooter and far more objective than most, regardless of their ideology.

Here is a list of all the radio stations that have "The Radio Factor"

I like O'Reiley. I think he's honest and sure beats the anchors on regular TV news shows. I don't think the purpose of any news anchor, or interviewer, or reporter is to have us all believing what they say and to have us agree with them 100%. We each have to make our own decisions based on the information given, and I think his show does a good job of that.
