    Among the images that are most compelling from that day are those of the Palestinians dancing for joy in the streets. I truly don't understand why we give a rat's tail about what they, or the Saudis, think. We don't need them. We've seem clearly in the past year where they stand, and it is not with us. We owe them a jihad, one that will make the next hundred generations tremble at the thought of ever trying something like this again.

    No no no! Come on! The Palestinians are the horribly abused ones, remember? The "new tortured minorities" in America's eyes?

    Makes me wish I could join the Israeli Defense Force just for the sole joy of being able to blow them away all day long.

    We,the people on this board don't need the Saudis, but Bush and his oil cronies do! Hand-holding with the Saudis is benefitting someone in power, in Washington! Sadam is still in power in Iraq, because someone in Washington is benefitting(defense contractors?).With the intellegence, and military capabilities this nation has, none of these
    nations should have the strangle-hold on us that they have.When ever
    the actions of our government has no logic to it, odds are it's being done for monitary reasons, to the benefit of some corporation, with a lot of influence in D.C.!

    All of America is dependent on the Saudis. That is, anyone who drives a car, heats their house with something other than firewood, and wishes to see their roads stay paved and their shingles stay waterproof.

    Modern Yuppie-dominated America screams bloody murder when the price of gas goes up 10 cents. They have only a foggy idea and minimal interest where their gas and oil comes from, but they sure do squeal like little piggies when the Liberal news anchor gets on TV and announces that Big Oil wants to rape the virgin Alaskan wilderness to keep the price down.

    Bottom line: These days, cheap gas may be worth thousands of lives and billions of dollars, but it sure as hell isnt worth possibly disrupting the scenery in a remote and barren part of the Alaskan permafrost.

    Well i will put my 2 cents in here..I work in the oilfield ... do we really need to depend on overseas oil??? people think we just want to damage the oceans and the air..i have been out here for almost 17 years..We are under MMS (a part of the fed. govrn.) control (we can go to jail for doing something illegal out here ie: dumping oil in the water,,releasing gas into the air for more than so many hours without reporting it )...I know they have been a lot of people say bad things about what we are doing to the air,,water,,so on....But do you know that over 75% of us offshore workers hunt,fish, do outdoor type things...I took a little poll where i work out here 75 people work here 57 hynt or fish...So as long as the people (treehuggers and so forth) demend us to stop drilling of course we will depend on overseas oil....Natural gas that heats houses come from here in the good ol USA not overseas...oil is one thing not gas if from the good ol USA
