yet again jeffy displays his if ya cant pass'em crash'em attitude.this is twice he has done rusty this way.hit him 3 times to get him sideways.if it was once i could see it as incedental contact but three times is intentionaly crashing someone.if it was anyone but gordo he would have been black flagged, makes me sick

I don't watch "NASTY" car races.
I like open road races, when and where they still have them.
If it ain't a AC COBRA, it ain't a true Road Race car.

Does anyone doubt that Rusty would have done the same thing if he was in second? Saw Earnhart Sr. make that exact pass many times, usually much more aggressively. Remember when Sr. crashed Terry Labonte a couple of years ago on the last lap at the Bristol night race?? How about when your beloved Rusty did this to Ricky Rudd two times last year??? Nascar did nothing to any of these drivers. Every driver in Nascar worth his salt would do the same thing in order to win a race.

NASCAR once was racing. Real racing.

Now, it is WWF wrestling with fast cars.

    No time for it.

mbrook if you will look at the actual events in question you will see mr rudd first antagonized mr wallace and was deserving of the retribution he got.rusty hasnt abused gordon, and he didnt deserve to get crashed for the win

I loved Rusty's comment to the interviewer. "I was trying to catch him to knock the s#it out of him." If it had happened to Jeffy, it would have been "WHINE...WHINE...WHINE!!!"

Mr. David Nunn: "[NASCAR] is WWF wrestling with fast cars."

Sir, I salute you. That is the most profound and succinct summary of NASCAR I've ever seen. I'm adding it to my database of great quotes.

If it isn't Formular 1, it isn't racing.

    Give Jeff a break, please!
If we were looking at the alimony that he's about to get wrapped with, he needs a break.
And, I have talked to him personally (at KC track)and he isn't a bad kid---a showboater maybe (which NASCAR racer isn't), but a pretty clean cut guy.
    It's a show people, just a show!

Just my 2 cents, the poor sportsmen ship displayed in Nascar doesnt exactly teach our children good morals.

Like Rusty Wallace never used the chrome horn on anyone before? Get real! I would have been pi**ed if Gordon hadn't tried to pass him.

It was a good race. If I was a Rusty fan I would be mad to, But Rusty did say, "Thats racing I guess". 42 other guys would have done the same thing. ITS BRISTOL!

Back when I was interested in such things, sportsmen of all sports were, at least in public, GENTLEMEN. There seemed to be a code of conduct that everyone followed. They didn't talk bad about one another, use bad language, or cheat.

The only sport that seemed to allow bad sportsmanship was wrestling. Bad sportsmanship then went completely over the top in wrestling, and it spilled over into other sports, NASCAR being the most noticeable.

Back when Clint Murcheson owned the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Landry was the head coach, if one of the players got caught with drugs, or was charged with rape by some stripper, he would simply disappear and not be heard from again. (Michael who?) Anybody remember Lance Rentzel?
Probably not. He got into some trouble back when and he disappeared.

I watched the race on saturday nite. Rusty Wallace took the lead
by "bumping" Kevin Harvick out of the way. Apparently it's OK for
him to do it, but not have it done to him. Call it like it is and
use the same standards for everyone.

SECOND PLACE IS THE FIRST LOSER!!!!! As much as I hate to say it, Congratulations Jeff! I like Rusty and was pulling for him to get back to Gordon's bumper! I wanted to see him wreck both of em so Earnhardt would win!!!!! GHD

Watch the replays guys. Gorden bumped him in the rear 2 or 3 times. He had a faster car and Rust was blocking, as well he should. This isn't the same as bumping someone's left quarter and sending him into the wall. I knew of a guy who made a whole career of that. Ironic that he got snuffed by the same move.

I have not watched a race in years or a baseball game in years. When the drivers and players went to the highest bidder,I quit them both.
I realize that money talks but it has gotten too much for me.

I say it's time to get rid of about half of those mile and a half Charlotte clones and build some more Bristols, Martinsvilles and even re-open North Wilkesboro!! In a couple years they will even have a 4-lane highway open to Wilkesboro! That's more than can be said for that sorry POS they call POCONO!! What we saw last night was what made racing popular!! Beating and banging and getting on the inside of somebody and daring them to cut down on you! As far as the Formula 1 fans on here, why do they even have the race? Qualifying determines the outcome of them! How many passes for the lead have happened this whole season in F1? I bet I don't need to take my socks off to add them up!!!! GHD

first of all harvick was in the way and rusty needed him to move so jeff couldnt catch him(because rusty knew what gordo would do)also jeff wouldnt have been close enought o rusty to hit him if the lapped cars hadnt been holding rusty up.rust ran faster laps than gordon until he got blocked by traffic and gordo knew he couldnt pass rusty so he just crashed him...typical gordon
