Just recieved the July 20th issue of gun week.On the front page is an article about airport security now as we know it.It states that 24-29% of Airports failed to detect fake weapons.Fake Guns,Dynamite and bombs made it through the checkpoints.Scary thought if your planning a vacation,or business trip by plane. And they object to Pilots being armed?

    rugster,

Amazing if the statistics are true. I'm one that has to travel, mainly by air, at least twice a month. On my last flight I put a different pair of glasses in my briefcase. Forgot about a small eyeglass screwdriver in the case to tighten eyeglass screws.

Could not believe it when they stopped me, then ran my briefcase through the Xray again. Asked my permission to check, hand checked my briefcase and found the screwdriver.

Do not realize how they could immediately find an eyeglass screwdriver with plastic handle and yet fake guns, bombs and dynamite make it through, unless the owner knows what he is doing. Thought the wand they use to check lap-tops was for explosives.

Yes, it is scary, if the statistics are correct.
