1000 yard p-dog hunt

Well were back and I didnt get my 1000 yard p-dog , seemed evey time we moved back to get the 1000 + range a hill would block the view or or elevation would drop to low to see them.

How ever there is still some good news . I was able to get my 500 yrd shot statis 3 times.

Rabbit at 533 yrds .223 bolt.

P-dog 602 yrds 25-06.

And an unoffical 650 yrd with .223, but could not recover the P-dog but there was a chunk of lung left on the mound the size of a 50 cent piece, and blood entering the hole on the mound.

Less than 50 rnds were use between the 25-06 and .223 to acomplish this . gj.

Well it ain't exactly 50 percent but congratulations. 600 yards is a long poke by any standard. Don't be a stranger.

    VH:
Mine has a 1-9 twist and 26" barrel.

The older boxed A max says 1-9 and the newer says 1-8 twist .

Mine generally gives some where between 5/8 and 3/4 at 100 yrds and 2-3" at 500 yrds.

only negetive is the 75 gr has more recoil and my scope set on higher settings such as 40 power its harder to remain on the target. gj.

Great shooting. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd have to use a 4" towed cannon with flechet rounds just to have a chance.

    VH:

Scott Green did my 25-06/douglas barrel.
Although Scot did excellent work if I had to do it again i would have chosen the Pac-Nor barrel instead of douglas and a 1-9 twist instead of 1-10.

And my .223 is a box stock savage BT 112 competition target model. gj.
