It does not look like you can take the base plates off, like they are welded on?!?
Why would someone do that?

and looks like crap too. how are you supposed to take them apart if the base plate is welded in place?
what I'm thinking. those things will now be useless forever unless somebody does some grinding.
Durn, I don't know, also, how would you get springs and followers in that way?
PFM
P stands for pure
M stands for magic
You can figure out what F stands for[:D]
I thought maybe movie props? Make them unusable to avoid accidents on a film set?
OR, could just be a total screw up ...
Be curious to hear of the seller replies, if he has an explanation.

A "DOH!!" moment for him when he figures it out?[:D]
While the welding job is poor quality. The fact that the base plates are not removable is no problem what so ever . To install follower just install. then use wood clothes pin or pencil to ppust spring about 1/3 the way down slide paper clip through both sides of the top or next to the top holes . remove cloths pin or pencil then just install follower and slide paperclip out. All WW I & WW II magazines had bottoms that were fixed.
I thought EVERYONE knew this. When I was a little kid, an old Girine showed me how to break down a .45 mag with a stick and a nail.
I have a number of 1911 magazines, and none has a removeable floorplate.
I'll bet they ain't got no welds like that either.[:D]
im guessing it was some old timer who said "i dont need those new fangled removable floorplates!"
