Ruger - Gun Locks in California

edited March 2002 in General Discussion
I just got my new 10/22 target model. I am in the gun shop in California finishing up things, DROS are done and I'm check out. The guy behind the counter asks me which gunlock I want to buy and I say there is one in the box that comes with the gun. He says well that gunlock is not California approved. Now wouldn't a person think that if Ruger was really into protecting the country by putting a gun locks in every box they would put an approved "Kalif" gun lock in the box? The next question was do you have a gun safe which I did so a little more paperwork certifying that the make and model I was out of there with my new rifle. Oh well the new rifle shoots so fine I cannot believe it!Jim

I like the weather, the women and the wine but the gun laws suck! The main problem is that there are more anti's then there is pro's left here.Jim

California approved gun locks?Geeeeez....What the #$%* are they going to think of next, California approved ammunition and gun cases? Everytime I see posts like these I cant stop and thank myself enough about dragging my sorry * out of that state...lived in Ca for over 10 years and eight months after moving out, I was able to purchase my first home. Lets not even get started with the over-inflated cost of property in that state.-smooth

Why does cal. have to be different than the rest of the U.S on everything. I have been out working on my jeep and it everything is different on it in the manual because it has the california setup on it. If they want to be different than the rest of us then lets get rid of it. Why would anyone want to live there.

Will, if you can stomp that sucka into the ocean, you won't have to swim too far - we'll fly out to get ya . . . & stop on the way back to have your statue carved for immortality! For an enema - why don't you stick the hose in Bahston? It's the same hole, different coast.

Why live here? Well, you can't beat the weather, the girls are the best (the Beach Boys never sang "Idaho Girls"), and if you want to study film (which I do), you don't really have a choice. I don't think Penn State HAS a film school...Sure would love to buy an AK-47, tho...

I'm with you savage. The other thing that is nice is if you can afford a home your investment will grow faster than almost anywhere in the U.S. will. But mostly for me it's the weather...it can't be beat.Jim

Mr. Lobo--The women? Wow. You need to point them out. Eye candy is all I see on the west coast. Every west coast woman I ever dated was a basket case. It's good to be back in the midwest...for the most part.

idsman75,That's cause you midwestern hart throbs messed them all up with your lover boy talk. I've been told them midwestern girls carry about 20 extra pounds for those cold winters. The Kalif. girls have to keep it tight for those bikinis. Oh Baby! Poor will270win is stuck out in the wastelands so he really doesn't know what it's all about.Jim[This message has been edited by Mr. Lobo (edited 03-17-2002).]

Hmmm... "Eye candy" is contradicted by "keeping it tight for the bikini" ? This does not compute. And that's simply an observation, I ain't gonna get mixed up in this one.

Captain 241,Hunting gives me the excuse to travel to the states that I would not want to live in. I like to look at the beautiful girls on a daily basis. And by the way I want to thank all of the posters on this thread for having some fun with the Kalif. Boys and not letting things get carried away like is happening in so many other posts around here nowadays.Jim

Mr. Lobo I do feel JUST a LITTLE (teeny)bit sorry for all your rules & regulation you have in that great state of yours but you have to be vocal to all your Representative & Congressmen or women & your Dear Governor. I know some rules are good but they also have to be inforced also. I glad your new one shoot fine. Put a nice scope on it & fine tune some more. Have a good one
