Anyone here own or ever shoot a full auto Garand?

I think I'm going to try to find a used copy of the book from which this is excerpted.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes

    I am not sure I am man enough to handle a full auto Garand quite honestly.

    I watched a guy a little bigger then me shoot a M14 full auto once and while he kept it from rising too much he was backing up pretty good.
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    I was the B.A.R Guy(carrier) in 2nd ITR Camp Pendleton,Fired full auto on all exercises,but will admit all were done in the prone position and full use of the bipod...This in 1958.

    And a BAR is nearly twice the weight of a Garand.[;)]
