The UPS tracking number for the new Match Grade Machine 24" heavy contour 45-70 blued steel Encore barrel shipment. Getting the only one they had available was extra sweet.

I just happened to get the MGM email opened it and saw the sale. When I went to the web site I sure did not expect to find a 45-70 heavy contour barrel, but there it was exactly what I wanted for my second Encore frame, legal in Ohio now for deer. It took several attempts to get through on the phone but I got it. The price of $270 is even cheaper than TC factory barrels.

The 45-70 is easy to cast bullets for and hits like Thor's hammer. When deer hunting the 300 Hornaday JHP seems to be potent deer killers. The longest shot I face is about 225 yards and that would be from the French doors of my home, it will group 3-4" at that distance with the 300JHP's.

I hope you all have a safe, fruitful and enjoyable deer season this year to go along with the heart warming knowledge Hillary will not be POTUS, ever. [^]

    I'm happy for you Brother.

One of my must haves, is a TC in .30-.30.

I'd also like to have a .22-250 barrel for it.

Ah well, such is life. The quest goes on.

So little $$, so many guns. [:D]

I don't need anything at this point. However, my wants, far outstrip, my needs.

All I can say, is that my Son, is going to have one kick a** firearms collection.

I consider, my "collection," to be an investment. In more ways than one.

    Its what I enjoy. [:D]

Nice, not familiar with the TC as far as throat length, but if it has enough for the long Postells, sounds like fun.

I have both Ken. Bought them from an elderly member from our club, that doesn't shoot anymore. I also got a ported 357 and a 218 bee from him. My pop weaseled the 30-30 and 218 bee out of me, but I will get them back in his will. The 45-70 is a little too much. Like shooting a 375JDJ out of a handgun. [B)]

Last one huh? make me wonder how long that's been kicking around the shop for a sucker? I mean mama's "special" little one [:D]?

So will the barrel have wheels so you can drag that heavy * axle? Or a shooting stick with a kick stand? Let me know how much the barrel weighs. You might wanna send it off to Magn-A-Port to put a brake or a muzzle device. Might lighten her up by few grams.
