Has anyone came up with a better way to keep the spent primer cup on the press than the little piece of plastic that always seems to get lost?

I use a different press just for decapping old primers. Then i get a dust pan and counter brush and clean up the mess. I lost my little plastic spent primer catcher years ago.

A big rubber band or several smaller ones looped together works for me.

I've duplicated the "little plastic piece" from a scrap piece of electrical wire. 12 gauge, I think.

That's all I've ever used, and my primer catcher is one of the older, much heavier metal versions. I will say, though, that my old A2 press spits primers out like it's mad at them, so a gallon ice cream bucket works better. Still get a flyer every once in a while, so I keep the broom handy.

I have one of the original Rock Chucker's and I don't remember having a problem. However, I haven't used it in many years and my memory might be a bit cloudy. [:I]

    Nice[;)]

I never had a little plastic piece. Or it got lost early.

I just hold it with my hand. Or let em fall where they will.
I've got a trash bin set underneath my press. So no big deal.

Mine is over 30 years old and I still have the plastic cross piece that holds it on the press. I just take care of things and try to keep them together. I know what you are saying though, they are kinda cheesy. You would think they would have a better design. Oakie
