Just curious. Seems like a cool toy to own, if ya got one.[:)]
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Yep. Just pulled the lever down a half hour ago. Filled right back up and shut itself off. Worked perfect. And you knew you were going to get this response from three or more on here didn't you?

Spent 6 years on a tank. I personally would not want to own one. Very expensive to operate, maintain and move a 60 ton tank.

I would like to have an APC tho. Would love to have a BMP1 or 2. Checked into buying a non issued Cheq. Rebulic BMP2. It had never been put into service and was same as new. It still had the paper coverings on the periscopes. $250,000 (delivered to an importer in MD) with a lot of extras. 9-11 put the breaks on the deal. They made the Feds list of banned imported military equipment. Which meant no more imports.

Now they have to be demilled more than in the past. Part of which is cutting. They have to remove X amount of hull and who wants a tank or APC with large holes cut into 2/3 of it?

What little BMP1s that are in the US now are either not for sale or in very bad condition and not worth fooling with.

This is the closest thing to a tank I will ever own. They can be fitted with tracks, windshield, cab enclosure as well. Skid steer and amphibious. I am going to install a snow plow for clearing the driveway. A very capable vehicle. Also known as a "AATV" (amphibious all terrain vehicle).

since owning a tank would be pretty useless due to demilled and lack of ammo, i would prefer a maruader

I know a gent that had two of the WW 2 Stuart light scout tanks for sale, in running order. 37mm main gun. As said, a lot of maintenance, a lot of money, gallons per mile fuel economy, and the state highway dept gets real snippy about what you did to the blacktop when making that U turn!

Never owned a tank, but did get to drive one once for a short distance. Testing the clutch and doing some wrenching on a WW1 tank. I would not want to be in one of them for any extended period of time. The yellow one is mine.
