Over a span of 10 years I spent enuff time in Hawaii to be considered a local boy. I have seen the "tourist" hula. I have been to an exhibition from a proper traditional hula school.

But if you want to see the hula- go party on a Saturday at the beach with Hawaiian construction folks. Drink a little, fish a little, eat a little, play a little music. When Mom has a couple of glasses of wine, and the folks convince her to dance.........THAT'S the HULA, bra! [:p]
