Who likes it??? Going to make a big pot of it in about an hour. I'm making it with some carrots, celery, onions a bit of barley and chorizo.

Is it brothy or creamy?
Never heard of it. Is it some kinda bean?

They look kinda like a split pea but, smaller and they don't really fall apart as easily as peas.Their about 6 different colors of Lentil but, all taste about the same. The broth stays rather thin, unlike split pea.It can be blended to make it thick, then more whole lentils added. They only take about 15-20 minutes to cook.

Lentils could be classified as nearly all beans but there is a specific lentil bean. Usually they are green in color and you have to soak them in water to get them going, before cooking.
Campbells does make a lentil soup so one could try it before actually trying to make your own. It's not nearly as good as home made but gives you a rough idea.
There's a deli in town here that is a popular place to get good fast meals from. Usually a small soup and a very generous sized hot dog or chili dog for $3. It's real popular place for the working man.
Well to make a long story short I stopped in there a couple of weeks ago and that day they had the lentil soup and it was one of the best tasting soups I ever had. And to answer your other question it is usually on the thicker side.

Sounds vegan.
Some forum member was recently saying saying vegans were out to destroy America.
Why do you hate America?
Sounds good.
I'd definitely eat it.
It may not have meat (but I do agree its better with some beef or ham), but its got a good amount of protein none the less.

Last time I checked chorizo was a meat.
Anyone that would eat lentils, would probably eat a dirty pair of underwear.

But his statement grouped it with barley, and everything mentioned leading up to it was not meat... so I assumed......
Sorry
Yuck [xx(]
