Talked to a Lady at T/C about my Old Contender's Hard to Open Problem & She sent Me the Info about Shipping it to S&W. It seems to be the barrels because some function OK. Do They contact you after They find the Problem or do They fix it & bill you? Any Guesses about Costs? Thanks.

A fellow competitor fixed mine, I had trouble closing the action with 3 barrels I bought at a show. He said it was an easy fix, and that most older Contenders have this problem.
Apparently, the "locking block" interferes with the "stud" on the breech end of the barrel, and he fixed it somehow.
Took him about 10 minutes, and we were back shooting in no time.

Back in Early 2000s I had to send in my S&W 1076 for de-cocker issue. Had my gunsmith send it for me and one day there was a box at my door. Or did I answer the door? Either case the gun showed up at my door. No call and no charge.

Had that happen to me years ago and they just sent me some new locking blocks. They are easy to install.
