Picked up a case bowie knife at a yard sale. Knife is in great condition with a leather sheath. Blade is a little over nine inches long, overall lenght is fourteen inches. Knife has a brass guard on top of blade about five inches long. It has a brass hand guard and brass bolsters. Has two blood grooves on each side of blade. It has a etching of davy crockett holding a bowie knife. Has case xx with eight dots underneath it then below that in two lines USA 1836. Does any one know what this knife might be worth? Thankyou

Yes, I have the exact same one, and a dealer told me $200.00. I bought mine new 22 years ago.Mine also has a number 1836 near the bolster. How much did you pay for it?

Go to this Web site. http://www2.inetone.net/caseknives/index.html Our Knives are differant from this as they have a picture of Bowie on the front of the blade and the sheath on mine has brass all around it and a large portion of the bottom is brass, about 30% brass.

The number 1836 refers to the events of March 6, 1836. A date all true Texans are familiar with.Remember the Alamo!
