Seeing red and worrying...

Watching the news footage and film of the little girl who was snatched in Pensacola sent a chill up my spine. It is usually a little blonde haired blue eyed girl that these guys grab and I have two kids that fit the description. They don't seem to worry enough about this being something that could happen to them no matter how much I try to tell them. I have a secret code phrase that someone sent to get them will know. Anyone who doesn't know the phrase is not to be gone with. If someone asks for their help finding a lost puppy or "I have some candy in my car" then go tell the first adult you know and if possible get a description of the car and tag number. This has actually happened once and they came running to find me. If someone tries to grab you then kick ,scream, bite, pull hair, but do not go peacefully.
I don't think I could get on national t.v. and plead with the scumbag for the return of my child. I would presume that she was already dead and spend my minute of air time to let the guy know what is going to happen to him when he is caught. Especially in this case where they have the freak on film. I've spent the majority of my adult life trying to stay calm. It is a constant battle to keep the beast in check with all the screwed up stuff that goes on, but with a child grabber, molester, murderer I wouldn't even try to restrain myself. The last thing he would see before his brainwaves ceased would be a large tatooed man sinking his teeth into his beating heart. Why do they even put these guys in prison? Just kill the sick sobs in a gruesome and public way. Or let the fathers of the victims have at the guy with a hot branding iron and a dull knife.[}:)]

I hear ya BDJ. If that was my girl, that pig better hope the cops found him before I did. I would do things to him that would make sadam (sp?) look like a Cub Scout.[}:)]

On the other side, Mine turns eight this Friday. I pretty much don't let her out of mine or Mom's sight.

Yeah, but when they get to the pre-teen years they want and deserve a little more independence. It's a no man's land at that age. Too young to carry a gun and too old to have Papa holding her hand everywhere she goes. I think I'll atleast give her some pepper spray and some more dirty fighting tips.

BDJ, I don't have any kids, and really don't worry much in a personal family sense about this kind of thing, but I will bet if you ever need to raise a posse, you could do it here. Can you imagine them trying to prosecute 34 guys from around the country toting guns and standing around a grease spot?

Teach your kids to remain alert and aware; that's the safest policy. "If anyone ever tries anything, scream for help."

And having them pack a knife and pepper spray wouldn't hurt either.

I'm with you BDJ. My daughter is 14, heck almost 15 now. All she wants is her 'independence' and I can't blame her for that. We all wanted it at that age. It's a completely different world nowadays.

This topic brings something to mind I dealt with once.A mid 30's guy went off on a drunk spree and came home like 3 days later still drunk and took a claw hammer and beat his 16 month old and his 3yr old daughter to death with their mother subdued. She watched the whole thing then he beat her to death with a crobar. He was arrested shortly after and when the trial began they ask for extra security as the womans family had openly made threats against his life.I was one of many who was assigned to dirt bags security.I spent hours before the first hearing thinking am I willing to take a bullet for that POS?It bothered me for some time.It was very likely someone would try to shoot him as we escorted him from the jail to the Court House.I'm human I had the same emotions against the guy as everyone else. But I remembered the Oath I swore to up hold and kept my emotions out of it.I would have took a ullet for him in a heart beat.I just kept telling myself Justice will be served by the Court and the Jury of his pears.I even was briefly shown on TV escorting him shackled to the Court House. But I would have given my life to see that he got a fair trial. And he did he was executed in 2001 for 1st degree murder of his wife and kids.I still get a lump in my throat when I think back on the events that took place.

Fellows my daughter is blond haired and 17! She weighs 125 soaking wet so you can imangine that I have worried about the same thing for a few years. My kids were raised as BDJ has taught, code words and common sence. Other than that all we can do is pray they use it. I will say this, anyone was to do harm to my kids, they will never see the inside of a courtroom for trial! As to raising a posse, I am sure it would be done on here real quick and no jury in the world would convict anyone of it! The thing is it is not just girls but boys as well when it comes to pedophiles! My youngest son turned 15 the 1st day os Feb. and I still worry about him even though he is over 6 feet tall. Middle child is 16 and he is over 6 foot and weighs 250+ yet I worry about him as well too. I reckon parents worry no matter the age or size of their kids.

My daughters are 31 and 27 and are "hotties". Think I don't still worry about them. It's my job and always will be.

I am a youth minister and over the years I have worked with a lot of kids I worry about.I am also a parent of a 6 year old daughter and a 4 year old and 2 year old boys.

Even though I know it is against God will I can honestly say if something like that happened to one of my kids I would literally rip the slimes heart out with my hands. Shooting wouldn't be good enough, I would want to feel him die.

My kids are my world and if some piece of slime commited such an atrocity I don't think I could hold back.

In 1972-3 a girl in her early 20's was murdered by a busboy in the rest/bar she worked at after hours. They caught the killer, he went on trial and the girls father asked the judge for a fair sentence, but, not excessive.

The busboy was paroled 6 yrs later. The next morning his body was found in the Baltimore Harbor...floating face down.

The dead girls father, worked in Baltimore, he was an executive with a trash company based out of New York. When they interviewed him he said he had no knowledge that the guy was paroled. Imagine That!?

I firmly believe when it comes to our families, we on GB are of the same conviction as BDJ and all others...hurt mine and eternity in Hell is still too good for the scumbag!!!!

I havent heard if they know who the guy is? is he the Father? a relative? the biggest majority of child abduction is by an estranged parent.

The fella in Louisiana who's 14 year old daughter was snatched, tortured, raped and sexually mutilated didn't wait for court justice when the sicko was caught. 2nd offense child abduction and rape. Figured he'd kill the kids to prevent them identifying him on his next go around. Anyway , the father busts a store front window and grabs some stuff until the cops come and arrest him. They didn't realize who he was and put him in the county lockup with the rest of the guys awaiting trial. He found the guy in jail and bashed his skull in against the concrete floor. The judge let him off with temporary insanity and stated that the people of his parish would never elect a judge who would do otherwise.

If this guy was not someone she recognized (knew) then there wasn't much reaction on her part ... maybe "deer in headlights syndrome".

Any way seems with each passing week you hear of more cases where the perpertrator is a repeat offendor ... jail don't cure 'em ... these jerks are "wired wrong" and the only wiring change I can think of is very high voltage but not applied in the conventional manner for the execution!

When are they going to get some serious laws on the books to protect kids ... simple stuff molest, etc. and life no parole, kill a kid and death penalty ... w/ no 20 years of appeals at taxpayer expense!!!

I have to disagree that they look for a certain hair color or a certain eye color they look for easy targets kids alone. I would have to say if it happened to me god forbid nothing else would matter any more so i would have nothing to lose[}:)] and i'll leave that at that.

My kids are independent now, so I don't worry *quite* so much, but I doubt any parent ever stops. After all, the adult victims of these sickos have / had parents, too. Mine are my life. I'd give it to protect them, I'd give it to avenge them and if I were ever sitting on a jury considering what to do with a parent who took justice into their own hands with one of these vermin, the defense would start with one vote in the bag.
