Thought this was pretty amazing. There is a guy who carves these out of sand, I think in Maryland. Every week the ocean washes it away and he makes a new one. Anyone seen one in person?

    Yes, I have seen them many times.
    This guy lives in Ocean City Maryland which is where these are done.
    He does them year round and permant lights are set up for night veiwing mounted on the Boardwalk. The Ocean does not wash them away. They are built just off the boardwalk so they can be enjoyed by the millions of tourists that visit every year. I think they are built around 11th street and Boardwalk. He changes them when he feels they have eroded enough or when he feels like it.

    He only does one at a time. Then he destroys it and builds another.
